I had ONE chick out of six hatch and s/he is currently in my room with me messing with my hair. Cute, but he hasn't pooped yet, which means he isn't eating. Anyone have experience with raising a chick by itself? It drank and ate a tiny bit, but like I said, no poop. Very active, though.

A day. He's plenty warm, but I'll put him back in his bucket if he starts cheeping.

Chicks are born with yolk still in them. So they don`t really need to eat for a day or two. They can live not eating for a day.

Chicks are born with yolk still in them. So they don`t really need to eat for a day or two.

Well, I've hatched chicks before, but I'm really nervous about this one. Those six eggs were $110.
What was the million dollar man's name? I should name him that.

The longest i've had chicks with out a friend is a full day. They are very needy and will cheep constantly. try a heating pad inside a pillow case for heat instead of a light. baby will sleep longer.
