«We Could be Heroes»

In a flash, the hummingbird girl flew up and out one of the holes in the earthen ceiling, into the night sky.
"No need to tell her where to go." Vance said, "She graduated top of the Hermes class. She'll get your message delivered. Now, as for your training. Wind, lightning, and rain are all very useful in their due time." He moved away from the window, to a bench and sat down. His hands folded under his chin, "Your skills are like red paint on a canvas, and your control is blue. Put too much blue, you won't be able to see the red. Put it on too thin, and it won't make a difference." He glanced over to her, "The secret is finding the perfect balance."

Tayn followed him but stood and listened to what he said her eyes looking at some place beyond the walls as she imagined an artist canvass with heavy red paint splashed on it running down and dripping off, then she tried to envision blue paint slowly creeping in pushing the red paint back. It seemed to work, but the red paint began to run down through the blue and splatter on the imaginary floor. her brow furrowed but she had lost control of it the more she tried the more red paint there seemed to be.
She sighed, "I guess it's going to take a lot of practice and patience ." she said.

(if anyone's wondering where I got the inspiration for Maru here a pic even though he looks nothing like Maru he is pretty much a snake has yellow slitted eyes and the last part of his name literally is Maru. XD)

He nodded, "Yeah, some of that. But first we have to find your blue paint."

Char winced and tore the headset off of her head as she scrambled to get up as Dryden seemed satisfied at the vehicles. "DAD FIRESTEIN!" she yellled, running behind her father.

"Finally." Dryden said and nodded at the people driving.
(What, so Dryden wasn't affected by the sound? And I thought Char's chip was like, totally fried?)
