«We Could Be Legends» Chat Thread

D: A year or so ago, when my dads mom died, he basically stopped talking to all of them over the inheritance. He was so upset over the fact that they were arguing over her things and not just dealing with the fact that they'd lost their mom. It was really hard on him. :hugs
See, that's exactly what these people have to REALIZE.
From my perspective -which is really aided by the fact I never got super close to my grandmother- it's all SO UTTERLY STUPID. Even the way my mother's acting. I know firsthand what's being said because she's been making me write text and email rebuttals to them all. Yeah, I get it, it all has emotional value.
But so do relationships.
They're ruining themselves over these super trivial things.
And the four of them aren't all that young, either. My eldest aunt is almost 80.
You can't take it with you, guys. You really can't.

Yeah. I got one thing from her, it was a really pretty tea cup, it had ceramic flower petals on the outside, it was more decorative than actually a cup. I left it at my moms so it wouldn't get broken. It was special, because it was something she set aside and said my grand daughter can have this when I'm gone.

My mom broke it. ;n; But That happens to things. They get broken. It's the thought behind them that matters not the actual thing. <3 hopefully they figure out that family matters more. Or at the very least once they've dealt with the stress, and grief, realize that they weren't themselves and are able to forgive each other for how insensitive they were being.

Listening to It's Quiet Uptown is almost unbearable after everything today.

D'awww. Well, you have the vivid memory of it, at least.

Yeah, with this family, honestly all we can do is hope and pray. Thanks for the words of wisdom, Kate. <3

Toby’s smile flickered, and then vanished. He dropped his head into his hands as he tried to think of some sort of reasonable excuse, but nothing came out.
He let out a small, frustrated sigh. “But last time I was healed it made my powers stronger. I don’t- I don’t want that to happen again.” He mumbled.

Gettin ready to argue with Toby be like:
