I was gonna say at least alice and brissa are wearing dresses, but alice's dress has overall straps holding it on.

Rings.

chains, bridge cables/ other supports, rail tracks, boats, air planes, door knobs, glasses, home appliances, parts of gasoline tanks and pumps at the gas station, chimneys, furnaces, faucets, copper pipes for water, electrical wires, power stations, radios..... There is so much stuff that we rely on metal for.

Are there any limitations we should put on this thing? Specific metals that won't be affected? I was thinking maybe this type of corrosion might work:
Intergranular corrosion is generally considered to be caused by the segregation of impurities at the grain boundaries or by enrichment or depletion of one of the alloying elements in the grain boundary areas.

Basically the the impurities that are added to hold the metal together deteriorate. In this context the air was filled with a high concentration of a chemical that reacted with the impurities and the metal literally just fell apart. Things that were of purer quality would take longer to be affected if they were at all.
