Personality: Quiet and guarded, Janette does her best to blend in and not draw unwanted attention to herself. Past events left her wary, not to mention distrustful, of others. She's never managed to stay long in any relationship due to her fear that if she let her guard down, it would backfire and leave her hurt.
History: Janette was raised by an aunt and uncle who treated her like a daughter, since they didn't have any children of their own. She never knew her biological parents; her father having died when she was a baby, and her mother disappearing not long after. The disappearance imprinted her for life, however, leaving her with the constant fear of being alone as well as severe trust issues.
Her aunt and uncle were social butterflies and she was whisked from one party to another, always going somewhere. The busyness was welcome, as it distracted her from thinking too hard on her past. After college, though, she was left with many hours of her own, during which she researched and questioned what had happened to her mother. Her job as a detective gave her access to many hidden files and documents, through which she
gradually traced and connected things of the past.
