Gjoran said "Ohhhhhhh. Yeah I was in the army. For Norway, I was actually an assassin."
Asassin, scientist, vet, detective; 2030, 2026, 2001, 2055. Alarms were ringing and boxes being checked off in Janette's head. She sat down quickly, stumped as to the meaning of all this. What was it, some big nasty joke? Was mind manipulation at work? She sighed heavily, confused and frustrated.

"Quite the assortment?" Nigel asked aloud with confusion in his voice. "Is the war over?" He asked as continued into the cave. As his eyes adjusted to the light in the cave, he saw 5 people, all very strangely dressed he noticed. Had the war resulted in the apocalypse, that people had to cower in a cave? Question after question rushed through Nigel's head the more he saw. He eased him self back against the cave wall and slid down until he was seated, finally getting a moment of rest.

"Which one?" Janette and Ian asked at the same time. But a quick glance at the man's clothes told them enough to know it wasn't a more recent one. Ian looked to Janette, who said, "What's your name?"

"Which war? The great war of 1914! Is it over? My Name is Nigel Pinchly, I'm a Private with the British Expeditionary Force. Where are we? Last I remember, it was September and I was at the Marne River getting ready to go over the top to give Jerry hell! Then I wake up in the bloody snow."

The three looked to each other, all genuinely confused and worried.
Ian cleared his throat and said evenly, "Hate to break it to you, Nigel, but there have been three all out world wars since then."
Madeleine jerked her head towards him. Had the world really gone to war twice more after WWII??

Nora looked at the new young man and felt bad for him. She was struggling with all this time news she couldn't imagine how he must feel having been from so far in the past and the last thing he remembered being war. She scooped up the last of the food that was heated on her old plate and brought it too the man. "Here Nigel, something warm for your belly. I'm Nora by the way nice to meet you."

"Three? Are you mad?" Nigel explained in disbelief. "There hasn't even been one, not even a quarter of the world was involved in this war. Do you perhaps mean battles?" Nigel took the food offered to him, but immediately set it on the ground next too him, too distracted to eat, with the current news given to him. "It is still 1914, is it not?"

"Nigel, c'est 3001, we think," Madeleine said gently.
Ian took it from there. "I know this is hard to comprehend, but we are all from different years—and I don't mean a difference of one or two years, I mean scores and hundreds. There's something bigger at work here. We all woke from the same situation, encapsulated in ice, in the middle of this frozen land."

Nora felt bad for him as he was clearly having a hard time accepting and understanding this all. She let the others do the explaining as not too long ago she was feeling the same as him.
