Madeleine wrapped the blanket tight around herself and moved to the warmth of the fire. "Bonjour," she greeted everyone cheerfully.

Janette scoffed under her breath. A good morning in whose book, exactly. Instead of returning the greeting, she offered the can of peaches to Madeleine without a word.

"A few of us are going to check out the houses, see what's salvageable," Ian explained. "You're welcome to join us, stay here, or go with Janette to see if anyone else is alive by the blocks."

Janette wanted desperately to face palm, but refrained. She was hoping to leave Miss Chipper at the cave to keep an eye on things, but with an offer on the table, she'd likely choose to go out. And she was right.

"Oh merci," Madeleine said, smiling sweetly, "mais je think I'd like to see le ice." She took the canned peaches and smiled gratefully to Janette.

(Coming for you, Gar XD)

She nodded to him but she was concerned he seemed unhappy. She reached out and touched his shoulder and gave it squeeze. "We will, and everything is going to be ok. Just remember all this started with you and me, were friends alright. And no matter what or who comes I am still here for you." Nora gave him a friendly smile as she pulled her hand back.
Gjoran nodded, before getting up and replied "im going to go for a walk."

(When do you want them to reach the cave?)

"I used to have a wife." Dierk mentioned casually. "She was an amazing woman, nobody could ever replace her in my life. If you truly love that man, and he can support you, then I'm sure you will never regret marrying him. Love is not perfect, and isn't always fun, but it does not fail either if the feeling is honest."
(Whenever, I don't care.)
Jade's expression became sincere as Dierk shared a personal detail about his life, and a sad one at that. "I agree. Thank you, I needed to hear that." She admitted with a warm smile.

Nora nodded at Gjoran as he walked off, she was worried about him. He had said less and less the more people they took in. She walked over to the other as they sat around the fire discussing what the plans were for the day. "hey guys, Gjoran is going to take a walk, give him some space I think he isn't not doing so well." She added quietly as she sat down by the fire.

"You're welcome." He replied shortly. He was a simple man, and was quickly running out of things to say to a woman he didn't know very well.
After a while of more boring walking, he finally looked up and realized how much progress they had made.
"Hey! We're close, finally." He said, rather relieved. The cave was just right in front of them, and they were so close that Dierk could actually spot a few people in there. At least, their outlines.

After eating his share of dried meats and canned fruits, Nigel went through his stuff to make a mental inventory. He found he had his wallet, a crushed pouch of tobacco and rolling papers, a fixed blade knife his father had given him before he went of for war, a pack of matches, ruined from the snow, and two loaded magazines for his SMLE, useless without a working rifle. As he tossed the magazines down, he sighed. "I guess I could throw them at someone..." he mumbled under his breath. "I'm ready when you are, ma'm!" he announced to Nora. "You don't happen to have a spare bag for supplies I could carry, do you?"

"Well none of us are exactly doing well either," Janette muttered quietly.

"D'accord. Will he be going with either group in search?" Madeleine asked. They could hardly risk losing him; the group was still rather small and there was more chance of survival if they stayed together to help.

(@Run Wild, get your sorry butt over here.)

Nora looked at Nigel and laughed a little at his quiet comment about throwing the magazines at people. But she said nothing until he actually addressed her. "Sorry Nigel I don't have another bag, but we can look for more when we get to the houses later. I am sure we will find something you can use to carry supplies in. Ian if you are ready we best head out now so we can have plenty of time." She replied both to Nigel and to Ian as she lifted her now empty pack onto her back.

"Well none of us are exactly doing well either," Janette muttered quietly.

Nora nodded at Janette's assessment of how they were doing, she was right. Gjoran had reason to act the way he was she supposed. She just hoped after his walk he would be feeling better. She turned to Madeleine and shook her head. "No I don't think he will be going with either group. He's just taking a walk and then I am sure he will return here to the cave to keep watch on our things."

(Should we have Dierk and Jade reach the cave before we all leave? )
