Andorra thought a moment, then said, " That just shows that we are on the right track. That kid, obviously knew something. Perhaps the shooter knew he'd talk. So he silenced him forever. I'm only guessing here, Gray. But it seems probable."

Gray nodded. Sirens could be heard in the distance. "Let's go back to HQ and get patched up first. Then, we'll do the full Scooby Doo investigation."

Lucas sighed. He wanted to fight back, but he dare not risk Bella's life. He walked out the the van, like he had been instructed.

Andorra looked around to see if the sound of the sirens would spook the trigger man and make him get careless. But to no avail. "You know Gray, for a short time there. I thought being cops was easy. Now....no so much. Why would anyone want to do this, Gray? It's a thankless job, not to mention dangerous one."

The man moved and opened the back door then reached to help him in. There was no sign of Bella since she had been taken in another van
