Laine churred slightly, feeling nervous for the first time. She hadn't really given training much thought, but guessed she was ready.

She smiled shyly up at SnowFeather. 'Sure.'

"Great" Said Snowfeather "First I'll start with giving you a tour of the territory so that you get familier with it"

Laine fluffed up her feathers, for it was starting to get chilly, followed SnowFeather out into the forest.

'We always used to sleep in the crevices under the fountain. It leaked in places, but it was very warm. The council never got round to fixing it,' she chuckled slightly and shivered.

'The one in the city centre park. People would throw coins in and we used to dive for them, racing to see who could collect the most. Of course, that rooster always won. He snatched our findings off us...' she growled.

'We all lived in the park together, and when it was cold we'd all shove up together in the space beneath the fountain. It was old and unrepaired, you see, and there were lots of places to shelter. He of course, would always take the best posts and leave us to lie in the areas where the fountain leaked and dripped streams of water onto us.'

She sniffed disdainfully. 'We were over the moon when he disappeared, back that day a few months ago...'

'There was a large commotion in the park that day. There were lights and loud sirens, flashing blue everywhere.' Laine said, following SnowFeather into the forest. She tripped over a vine, picking herself up.

'He headed out for the fountain when we were all hiding behind the run-down brick house, to show he wasn't scared, and we never saw him again.'

Snowfeather glanced sympatheticly at Lainepaw, although she guess her apprentice was glad he was gone "Did you miss him?" She asked.
