'I'm not too good at fighting currents, but I can skim the sea floor quite well. It comes from people throwing so many coins into that fountain, we fetch them all up after dark, the council probably wouldn't know what hit them!'

Laine clucked happily. 'Sure! I bet I'm gonna kick your butt!' she teased.

She dunked her feathers into the clear water to warm up, letting it soak in before stretching her wings.

'I'm ready!'

Laine frowned to herself. She hadn't counted on murky water... but she could go by feel!

She pounded below the waves and hit rock bottom, moving her way along slowly and finding a couple of the smooth chips, inserting them beneath her wing feathers.
