‘Smarty Pants’ as substitute for Poly-vi-sol?

Hi all. I have a 2 day old baby chick that is walking on it’s hocks. I thought it was splay leg and did the little straw and rubber band to fix that, but now I’m leaning more a slipped tendon or vitamin deficiency.

We live really rural and my husband made the two hour trip into town and visited Walgreens and Walmart trying to find Poly-vi-sol without iron, but not luck.

He did find this. Would you recommend using this instead? Just curious if any of you have experience with it.

That might work, but a relatively inexpensive source of riboflavin (B2) to treat walking on hocks and curled under toes is human Super B Complex Vitamins. You can crush and dissolve 1/4 tablet daily and give it orally, in food or in a little water with a dropper.

Good morning, Eggcessive. I have this on hand. Do you think this would be better than the ‘Smarty Pants’? I just don’t know if the magnesium would be bad for the chick.
