“Amerucana pullet” started crowing at 8 weeks

I'm going to be the dissenting voice, he is in fact a cockerel, however, I have several Easter Egger cockerels and cocks and all have sweet dispositions. I have created them myself using my Silver Ameraucanas and Black Orpingtons so perhaps that's the difference between mine and a feedstore EE variety. Don't know but not all are aggressive. A friend of mine has a feedstore EE and he's quite friendly, 3 years old now and he eats out of her hand and likes to be around people.

He’s gorgeous but a total pill. I’d love to keep him for protection as we lost a bird to a hawk last fall. In fact there’s a hawk, also gorgeous, sitting on our fence right now.

I agree, not all are aggressive. some are a bit timid and flighty. I think maybe the breeds used to make EE's and of course too much handling make them more aggressive toward people. Most all mine have been ok, but blue feather tried an attack on me when only 5- 6 mo. old, I bonked him on the head, at that time, it didn't take much, and he has been good every since. ( I handled him a lot as a chick until he was 8 weeks old when he decided he was a roo and not a pullet). No holding him and no eating out of my hand, but he does come close and goes to pen when fed and no further attacks. he is 9 mo. old now. Once I decided some were cockerels, I quit handling them like I would a pullet, and they pretty much became a bit more timid of me. followed me with food bucket, sometimes underfoot, but no holding them and no attacking me. Yes, they became a bit harder to catch, but dusk/nighttime very easy to catch then. Always went to their pen to go to bed and to get that last bit of supper for the night. Sorry you had to re-home your EE, he is a very handsome fella.

That's an EE cockerel. Unfortunately, I can attest to EE cockerels being mean. All of mine were vicious.

Mine was a total wuss but then a sample size of one is statistically insignificant. I'm guessing that your sample isn't much larger, though. Hardly fair to judge them all by the actions of a few.

my last EE rooster Leon was the nicest rooster I've ever had!! He was gentle with hens and even trusted around kids.He had this adorable habit of following me to the hay barn and the hens would come in and he would show off the place by purring deeply, happily making nests in the hay.He would purr in the hay even when the hens were gone,just sitting there being a happy boy. and he was a jerk when he was young!! So I'd hold out hope for your rooster,he may just need to be shown who's boss.
