Lillian shook her head. "Okay, first of all, she doesn't have friends. She thinks of people like me, you or Finn, as her siblings." she started.
"Because of that, she thinks she is responsible for us, it also doesn't help that she is older then we are. I've tried explaining to her that she isn't but its just how she was raised. Do you know anything about her past?" she asked.
 
Lillian sighed. "She gonna kill me for talking to you about this.." She looked at Jake. "Long story short, her parents ditched her and her two younger brothers when she was about 8. She had to find a way to take care of them so she started skipping school and working. Anyway, this happened and the cops found out and tried to put them in foster care. Julie knew the only way that would work is if they were split up so she took her brothers and ran. They camped out in the woods for a few months. While they were there her brothers decided to go exploring with out her knowledge. The youngest one, I think he was about 5 heard a noise so they went to check it out. They found a deer who had gotten trapped so they tried to free it. The deer freaked out and kicked the 5 year old and he fell into another bear trap. It got him on the shoulder too close to the neck and he died with in the minute. The older one, who was like 6, scream but by the time Julie got there it was too late. About six months after that the 6 year old got sick and died. A month later the police found Julie and brought her back. I think she's had about 26 different foster families. Julie kept running away and would usually end up at my house. fast forward a few years Julie ran off for the last time and didn't come back. We kept in touch but she made me swear not to tell anyone where she was. I don't know exactly what she did during that time though. Fast forward to the future and here we are."

"Basically, she won't tell either of us anything. You getting hurt, reminds her of her brother. It also doesn't help that if her brothers were still alive, you and Finn are the same age as they would be. I don't think she's ever forgiven herself for what happened and its been hard on her. In her own way, she is trying to protect you the best she can without making it obvious. Julie is the type of person who won't admit it, but she would happily die for us." Lillian finished. "Jake, promise me you won't tell anyone about her past ever."
