☆☆☆Fresher Starts. Moving More☆☆☆

I’ve always wanted to go to Louisiana. Not for Mardi Gras like most idiots (too many people) but the food!!! I want to cruise around off the beaten path and break bread with real people.
My Louisiana friends tell me it’s a good way to disappear. Some folks don’t take kindly to outsiders.
As a resident of New Orleans, I beg to differ. So many people are afraid, when there are so many big cities that are far worse than we are. Well if you believe the stupid hype, you just lose out on the best time, best food and friendliest people.
I am sad when I hear the crap. NOLA is a great place to live and raise a family.
People don't "disappear " here anymore than any place else in the USA
Tchoupitoulas
You spelled it right :wee

I’ve heard the same about the cities. I don’t want that experience. I want off the beaten path.

No, they actually use the N.
I almost got killed about twenty years ago when someone told me to take the Gendaga exit to get to the South Shore of New Orleans. Drove straight into the projects and almost didn’t come out.
They were trying to tell me to take the General Charles de Gaulle exit. 🤣
i had some scary stuff happen and some rally funny stuff on trips to N’awlins!! We went a few years in a row to keep mr muddy’s certification current while I was in school. He would always take his MC in the back of the truck and we would unload about an hour out and he would ride in leaving me to drive the truck. one trip after katrina, I got turned around and we ended up in a not so nice neighborhood after dark and there was a very “nice” man willing to let me follow him to my hotel.....it only took me and mr muddy a couple minutes to realize he was going to let us follow him away from the hotel to where his buddies were waiting!!! as they only saw me alone in the truck.....they never saw mr muddy on the mc!! 🙄🙄🙄 but during the day, we would ride the mc out to a “local” seafood shop that actually had some of the best food!! during the day, the “natives” were all scared to death of us!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Right after Katrina there was no law, so I don't count that as an accurate recommendation.
Come see us again and don't follow people you don't know. I am sure you will have a wonderful time :hugs
Sorry you had to deal with post Katrina thugs.
