The whole ballroom stopped as if frozen in time. Even the band stopped playing. A violin screeched to a halt. Wesley turned and saw Brienna. "Brienna?" he said. His voice echoed as well.

A maid finally entered the princess's room. "Sorry miz" she stuttered "I wuz helping in the kitchen". "Well then fill my bath with the finest sand and fetch my jewelry and ball gown" Daffodil said snappily. After thirty minutes the princess was ready. She wore a silky yellow gown fringed with delicate white lace. Around her neck and right ankle were strings of tear drop shaped rubys followed by silver beads. Lastly the maid placed a small golden tiara on Daffodil's head. The princess couldn't help but admire herself in the mirror. "You have escaped a whipping this time" she called to the maid as she walked elegantly out of the room. Daffodil entered the ballroom and suddenly felt a bit shy. She walked carefully to a lone pillar and stood with her back against it. Abruptly a mussy hen burst into the ballroom. Daffodil had never met her sister Brianna but recognized her immediately from a family picture.

"Grieving to a point close to death," said Wesley not letting Brienna go. "I have something to tell you though, our daughters... they, they went looking for you and they didn't make it. A guard brought them in half dead but it was too late." Wesley was crying again. "I'm so sorry. I believed that they were the only family I had left!"

Lily walked into the room and gasped to see Brienna. Lily had been hired after Brienna went missing, but she saw portraits of her and knew who she was.
