Caprica walked up to him. "I'm Caprica!" She smiled brightly. He spun around. "I'm Diablo." He said, and turned his attention back to The sobbing, stubborn mare. Well that was rude. She thought. "I was wondering..... What herd are you in?" "This herd, now"

Diablo watched the process. After a moment, he looked at the family. Nonchalantly, he nodded to the mares and foals and began to snake them to the spot he claimed as his territory.

All four of them were too shocked to say anything, so they just continued to run as fast as they could.

Diablo was right behind them. He steered them where he wanted them to go. When they reached the cave he usually slept in, he said "It's getting dark" he said kindly. "You can sleep in the cave right here."

As the three others entered the cave, Rhia stayed back, in front of Diablo. She choked back her tears. The loss of her friend was just too much to bare. "You monster!" she wailed. "You killed him! You killed him in front of his entire family, including his children!"

Diablo shrugged. "I didn't like when he reared up on me. I would of left him alone if he nipped me and that was that, but I didn't like when he reared."

"And you think that's a good enough reason to kill someone? You sicken me," she hissed through her teeth, ears falling back. "If I catch you anywhere near my foal, I will not hesitate to send you to your death, just like you sent Kale to his. I want you to die in the most painful way possible. I truly, truly do."

"You're no match for me." He sneered. "I'll send you flying across the prairie if you even think about killing me!"[/quote]
"You dumb ****," she shouted, nipping him in the neck as a consequence of his actions. "Is that how you treat someone who you're trying to make your mare? Kill her stallion in front of her herd, and then harass her?"
[/quote]Diablo kicked her chest. "I would treat you better if you did what I say" he hissed.

"I guess I shouldn't of killed your stallion. But you can be in my herd, if you'd like. I'll protect you from other stallions, and... Humans, when they come every year. You wouldn't be taken, I'd make sure of that. Neither will any of my mares."

Ebony's ears tipped forward. She was surprised to hear that. "Really?" she smiled, and brushed her pink tongue over a scratch on his lower back.
"Of course," he mumbled, nuzzling her a bit. "It's why I seem so... so over-protective, or annoyed at times. I'm sorry."
Ebony frisked her tail affectionately over his shoulders. "Thanks Vasch.. that's sweet." she nickered.
He nickered, to show his tenderness for her, and then pinched his eyes shut. There was a bit of a pause before he finally spoke again. "If you ever feel off put by me, just let me know. I'm... I'm trying to work on it as best as I can."
