Pearl opened both her eyes, she felt well rested and was oblivious to the huge fight last not she got out of her bed (what should it be a pile of seaweed or a huge clam?) and ran to her big brother (who she sees like a father)

"Do you know where Marilla went?" Pearl asked (Marilla is like a mother figure to all the mermaids) "She promised she would take me to go drown some sailors" (XD They see that as a game, humans hunt them and other sea creatures so why should we care about them is Marilla's reasoning as many almost all of her friends and family members were killed by humans, Pearl just looks up to Marilla and doesn't really understand that humans are living things and thinks its a fun game to drown sailors)
