Knight lead the group away from the area they knew and deeper into the mountains. Spice looked back at the field as they walked.

Blood rested.
 
Shadow started walking, watching for the dogs and hoping that they wouldn't come across another camp.

Knight walked on with Spice and Heliotrope. He had only been this far South once before.

Blood looked up and saw her sad. He caught himself having compassion for her. Was he starting to have feelings for this strange mare?
 
Heliotrope wondered if Sugar was even alive.

Sugar kept dreaming she dreamed about her and Penny swimming in a pond the year before it saddened her thinking about Penny how much she missed her.

River looked around. buck followed
 
Shadow walked for awhile. She looked around wondering about the horses that the men had taken.

Knight and Spice mostly walked for most of the day stopping every now and then to get something to eat or to get some water. Spice felt unusually sad. She couldn't stop thinking about Sugar.

Blood watched the sun sink down and touch the mountain tops. He was feeling weaker and his wounds were getting worse.
