The mare snapped at her
"Ok, ok" she said with a sigh and kept scratching her withers. She now it was an itchy spot that horses couldn't reach.

The mares skin quivered under Julies touch. She was covered in ticks
"Poor thing" she muttered as she started pulling them off carefully and crushing them into the packed dirt with a rock.
