It cannot eat tuna or any other type of food until it is getting chick grit which it doesn’t need as long as it’s eating flock raiser.

Oh okay I didn’t know I was planning on getting it tuna later in the evening I’m glad I saw this first

Okay that’s what it’s on and is it a problem that it’s still absorbing the yolk ? Someone said it’s been awfully long considering it hatched yesterday

Was this an assisted hatch? As others have said it’s the umbilical cord that you are seeing and it’s not uncommon for one that size to not absorb for a day or so. I 100% agree with everything @Miss Lydia has said so far. Only give it crumble and offer it water. It is going to take a couple of days for it to find its balance and that cord to absorb. It is also going to most like need extra nutrients. I always recommend poultry cell.

It was in a box and I was holding directly under the light and it rolled off the towel when I was adjusting the light

The eggs are under a heat lamp not in a brooder my mom said it was fine so i didn’t Know she is away on a trip that’s why I have been asking questions

Under a heat lamp where though outside? So your not using an incubator just a heat lamp to hatch? do you have the mama duck too?

How do I keep it from rolling on its belly and should I bring it inside to monitor its progress over night

Yeah outside seven hatched perfectly and there is 8 this one is the 7th
