Ray yelped as Cayden picked him up. His paw bled badly and left a trail of blood behind them.

Cayden said apologetically, "So sorry. Ray. Better a little hurt now, then a big hurt later." She tried to go as slow as possible to ease the trauma. But also, the lizard was going to stay distracted long. She just hopped she had enough time to get Ray clear of danger.

Ray sent a worried look to her, then the lizard. He looked down at his paw and froze. It wasn't often he saw a bone sticking out.

Josh ran around the lizard clawing and nipping at its legs. Cilestia ran out of the crevice to help Josh. She jumped onto its back and hung on.

Ray rolled off her back and snorted. He balanced himself on two and a half legs and looked over at Josh.

Cilestia looked over and saw Cayden and Ray. "Come on Josh!" She said and jumped of the lizard towards the crevice.
Josh followed running through the lizards legs into the crevice. He smiled when he saw everyone made it in safely.
The lizard roared and tried to get in, scratching at the cave floor and sticking what little part of it's mouth could fit in. After trying for a minute it growled and vanished.

Cayden breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness, that thing is gone." She then looked at Ray's leg." How are we going to set this? We need hands, not paws to do it." She thought out loud.

Ray winced. "My concern...is my paw." He looked at his front paw. It had been mostly crushed. His back leg was broken, but his front paw hurt more.
