Christmas celebrations took somewhat of a frustrating turn this afternoon - the ducks found out how to get into the big pond:

Darkness fell around 5:00 and the ducks were still happily swimming around while we tried enticing them in with every treat imaginable.

Finally someone managed to scare them out of the pond by making animals noises and slapping the water with a pole. By 7:30 pm they were safely back in their house!

Their exhausted owners went inside only to hear the eerie call of a great horned owl a couple hours later…never give up on your ducks tardily swimming in the pond after dark!

I woke up at four and couldn't get back to sleep, so I read until everybody else woke up.

I spent my Christmas Eve crawling under my coop trying to retrieve the chickens sheltering there from the rain. We got SO much rain. I was covered from head to foot in chicken poop mud. On my face, in my hair, in my pants... :barnie I missed a rooster, but he was alright. I was so gross though. My clothes are still outside, but instead of getting rained on they're getting snowed on now.

I forget who posted, but let us know what tattoo you get! (and if it hurts..).
