I have only had it once, but as I recall it had a stronger, slightly gamier taste than chicken. More like duck except leaner. How is Quail different in taste from Chicken? Is the only difference in size only? I've never had quail before. I am curious.
My plan was always to have 8-10 birds. BUT when I ordered from the hatchery I had to considered minimum order numbers for each breed/color, plus potential losses during shipping, plus the high likelihood of oops males (the birds I ordered only had an 80% guarantee on sexing). But then everyone survived and thrived, I only got one oops boy, and the hatchery sent me extra pullets!
TLDR the 14 birds I have now are the absolute maximum capacity for my set up and more birds than I have ever really wanted or needed. So while I love them all dearly, I think it is in everyone’s best interest for some of them to go to a new home. And my family are super excited to adopt them.
What exactly are you planning on doing with the Quail? Selling? Eating?

Probably mostly eggs but also maybe eating. Might reserve the best looking ones as pets too
I mostly just think they’re really cool and I love the look of the eggs.
Eventually I want to get some of the really cool/pretty feather colors too but for now I just went with feather sexable for my first time.
I wanna sell the eggs too.

Lol, fair point! I wondered if maybe she had tried it at a restaurant or something. That is the only way I ever tried quail...or elk...or duckShe hasn't even tried her own home raised chickens.
