Sick chick is continuing to improve! And the one that got into our first dog fight? Couldn’t tell. I’ve downloaded some coop/nesting box plans and my boys have decided to take on the project! :love :fl I’ll hopefully just supervise and provide payment.:lau And I ordered more chicks last night. A whole mess of pullets this time! Now just have to figure out what to do with my cockerels. lol

Really? I have always washed my eggs...I can't stand giving people dirty eggs.
Oh I understand that. My eggs are normally not dirty at all. Only if a chicken happens to walk in something on her way to the box and has poo all over her feet. If I give eggs to anybody, I make sure they are clean ones (I'll keep the more dirty ones if there are any) and I always tell them to give them a rinse off before using, even if they look "clean".

I wash mine because I have to in order to legally sell them. Part of the requirements for having my CA egg handler's license,
Depending on the state, people that are NPIP are required to wash and sterilize their hatching eggs before they incubate them.

I've been thinking about doing some sort of egg dip before setting. I want to see if it lessens the problems I am having with my Buffs.

I was doing 50 peroxide 50 water and it seemed to help my friends eggs because I didn’t do it this time and the hatch rate was so bad that I won’t even say what it was.
