Of course we didn’t have city water either....just a cistern so if it didn’t rain, water had to be hauled in on a truck....my grandparents had a cistern too but no indoor plumbing other than kitchen sink pump until I was 8This is so strange to me...I do NOT understand how people don't have air conditioners.
We didn't have a.c. until I was about 11.Yeah I’m not sure how I survived childhood in this area as we didn’t have a/c until I was nearly grown!!!!
I had the emoji problem and maybe it's the same with you. I accidentally tapped on the gear (end of the bottom row in the top bar of your posting window). That turns the options off & on, incl. the emojis. If it's not that, I have mo further techie wisdom to offer. And BYC needs to fix something because I can not use the emojis from the site I can only use the ones on my phone what’s up with that? Works off and on but mostly off
I had a bad habit of hitting that on accident as well. Took me a while to figure out that's what was happening.I had the emoji problem and maybe it's the same with you. Try it karaoke and get the singing down, then look up a YouTube video on how to play the song on your instrument. If it was/is a reasonably popular song there's a good chance you can find one. All good things take hard work and persistence. Don't give up, Dawg! You can do it if you work hard enough at it.![]()

Dang it!!!
I heard a song on the radio tonight and decided I want to learn how to play it since it sounds easy enough and I love the song. Have heard it many times and always loved it so I’m not sure what exactly about this specific time made me decide this.
But anyway, so I decided I better practice just singing it first and practiced it a few times and I thought I sounded pretty good/did really well this time but then when I played it back, it’s horrible.
It’s not even just the singing, a couple (very few) parts are decent, but I just like keep stopping I guess? Like I’ve got no rhythm or timing or whatever I guess. They pause in the song too but they make it sound so easy/effortless. When I do it, it’s long awkward pauses.
So now I’m like, no way in heck I will ever be able to do this.
Cause when I’ve tried to play before, I’m super slow and awkward with that too.
Granted, I’m not giving up just yet. I really really really want to be able to say I can play it. But it’s just super discouraging I guess when I was so excited and thought it’d be easier and realize just how far I am from ever actually being able to do it.![]()
I'm not sure if my choice of words are family friendly but it's friendly to my family so don't have a shit fit Saffy.
Now Saffy has me worried if the words coming out of my mouth or family-friendly or not.
