Nay, good sir, it do not. Alas but the times of Queen Elizabeth the first and the bard Shakespeare were not of the most enlightened. Goodwife, mistress, maid were more the common addresses of courtesy for the ladies.

I would suggest to thee to search amongst the ether for such terms as "Middle English" or "Shakespeare's English". To fully learn the speech of another tongue is a study of many a fortnight.

Edit: To be honest, read your Shakespeare and King James version of the Bible. Those are both written in Middle English.
