Remodel update...
All the walls in the kitchen have been stripped of sheetrock...obvious mold stains and no insulation behind the sheetrock. Also 1/3 of living room ceiling is gone. Love our sheetrock contractor...he is hardworking, meticulous, and cleans up every day before leaving.

The carpenter will tape out the pantry outline on the floor for his team to build the frame tomorrow. He will also tape out the outline for the cabinetry for the electrician. The demo team still needs to finish demo in the big bathroom. Demo team works with the carpenter. The carpenter will also replace the subfloor in the corner of the kitchen where there was water damage hidden under the old cabinets. Hopefully the floor joists are intact.

Met with the electrician today. He wants to replace the breaker box because the one we have was outlawed in 1970 for causing house fires...50 years without a fire. But upgrading wire to grounded plugs will need a bigger breaker box. He recommended removing the two layers of sheetrock ( the original and a 1970s remodel) in the ceiling to speed up the installation of the new light fixtures and easier to install wiring without cutting holes.

Will meet with the plumber on Friday morning.
