Elk is delicious. It is one of my favorite meats. I believe that pork is by far my favorite.

What does elk taste like? Is it similar to venison?

To be entirely honest, I say that the more ticklish someone is, the more bruises that outsiders will end up with.
Ask me how I know. I'm surprised I've managed to avoid walloping my doctor when he checks for hard fat around injection areas.

I worked with a woman that was so ticklish that I could make her crawl under her desk just by making the tickling motions with my hands. I never touched her.

It depends. Any wild game meat is dependent on how it is killed, taken care of in the field, cooled, aged and processed. Of course the diet can also have an effect.

I really like moose. But it is nearly impossible to get here anymore.

Elk is good, deer is edible. Ruffed Grouse is good. Squirrel is okay in small amounts. Beaver is surprisingly good, if it’s fresh. It like most meat goes gamey after it’s been out for a while.

Muskrat is a lot like squirrel but darker.

I have never eaten porcupine. I have killed them though for what they do to the trees and my dumb dogs. You would think they would learn after the first time and leave them alone.

I have never eaten at a strip club, but the older boys tell me everything tastes fishy. I think beaver is the only thing on the menu.

Agree. Deer is edible. Best cooked slow. Not a fan of making sausage out of everything. Although, some of the guys here will have the whole deer ground and mixed with pig. Waste of a good backstrap. SMH.

I've heard good things about porcupines. A lot of trouble to try.

Properly processed, aged and prepared, there is no reason that buffalo should be tough. Beefalo is said to be very good.

I've heard this several times. Never been able to confirm it. But then I'm prejudiced against cows, so that may be an issue. I'm still willing to try.

Different? The Oryx is sweeter than other meats. Tender and melt in your mouth good. I hope to try elk and moose one day.

Keep in mind, properly prepared meat is important. Aging is important. A bad cook can ruin everything and should be shot unless they are truly repentant and can improve.
