I have seriously no experience here but not having the air sac, could that hinder its ability to live inside the egg once this process begins, or hinder its ability to get out of the egg? Just curious.

No, once the process begins the chick will skip internal pip since there is no air sac and go straight to external pip so it can breath and I have had no problems with chicks getting out of the eggs yet

Yes I let them sit pointy side down for a couple of hours

So far I have only tried hatching quail but I need to hatch some chicken chicks for our flock some time next year
