It's fiction, written by fans, that uses bits and pieces of books, movies, shows, comics, and games to write their own stories. I like time travel and fix-its. For example if Bilbo, from The Hobbit, wakes up as his past self with all his memories and saves the everyone from dying.

Meh, but YouTubes only been up since like 2003, here since either 2004 or 2005 (I forgot), so I thought a small website like fanfic would be relatively new.

Nope, fanfiction had been around for a super long time. Before the internet, people used to even publish their stories in fanzines! Mostly Star wars and Star Trek.
