I kept the EE chicks in the garage for 2 days. They got bigger and I put them into the chicken tractor in the garden. Worked great! They all lived. I was ecstatic that I didn't have to change the brooder paper twice a day. Very nice.


Should have taken a nap behind the washer. Or was that yoga time?

Stupid program only captured some of the things I wanted to comment on. So here are random thoughts.
Generally don't cock shotguns. You just load them. One of the original point and click interfaces. Works real well.

The proper name for the "police call box" telephone booth thingy is the "retardus". It is a multidimensional clap trap because someone got lazy and didn't build another planet. Besides, it's hard to park a planet near another planet. Not like you can hide it behind a tree. Hence the shoebox. Tiny living at it's … something or other. Tiny living. Let's leave it at that. Such a popular idea, the Beasly's copied it. Well, most of the wizarding world did.

Another obscure reference. Babylon 5. A wonderful, intergalactic soap opera. Had some interesting ideas. I do recommend this one. Firefly also. Don't know if you could call it binge watching. I didn't drink.

Good news! the Easter Egger chicks had another play date. Pretty much ran away from the hens. The hens really ignored them and walked around. Intention is to leave both sets in the flight cage. Should be fine from what I saw tonight. We are integrated!

I love colorful hair, but in subtle hues. Recently I was really digging the rose gold trend but unnatural hair colors weren't allowed at the bank I worked at for nearly 8 yrs and now it isn't allowed in the RT program I'm in so I've never been able to give it a try.

I did the rose gold for about a month. I liked it but it faded too quickly from my hair. I also really enjoy highly unnatural colors and color melts. The faker, the better!!!

Ok I have a hatch going on. Very valuable ( too me) chicks. A long awaited restart for my Light Sussex flock. I have one out and several more pipping. How soon can I give them water and feed. I don't have a hatcher, they are going straight from incubator hatching tray to brooder when dry. This will be a long hatch as the eggs range from one to 9 days old. I read from scholastic source to add one hour to hatch length for every day the eggs are old. Know it is best if chicks are fed within 6 hours of hatch so they don't use yolk sac for energy ( scholastic source). So I need to get feed and water into the incubator for the first hatchlings. How do I do that?
They will be hatching one at a time so I need to keep the first hatchlings in the incubator. Until I get enough to make a crowd for the broodeer. Last hatch was all about the same time so not a problem.

I wouldn't add feed and water to the incubator. I would pull the chicks an hour or so after they hatch and put them in a brooder...each time one hatches.
