The blue glow in the infertile eggs is from the color of the membrane in the shell. If you are certain they won't develop, use them to experiment with how to remove the spots.
Or hardboil the eggs in a pan of water with some vinegar added. Let the eggs stand in that vinegar water until cool. The vinegar will dissolve the calcium in the shell making it easier to remove.
Then when you are getting your own quail eggs you can make deviled quail eggs or pickle them. My family loved the garlic/onion/jalapeno eggs.

I don't think this is stupid especially in airy areas that get some sun. Just buy a pitch fork and start turning it regularly.

I guess. I’m scared it’s going to turn into a moldy mess and I won’t have any place to fork it out to.
I keep trying to explain deep litter to the Ginger and why we need to add more materials to it, but he doesn’t get it, and he won’t help me if he doesn’t think it’s needed.

Is the hay in your coop or just run? I always start with pine needles bc they don't house mold the way does. But I think if the hay is in your open run part with plenty of ventilation and sunlight you may be ok. I agree adding decaying debris would be good. I started my pin needles off with coop n compost. I had s great experience but it was just mine. So that's not that credible as it was only one year.
