➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Can I say that I will eat your pie without sounding a little creepy? Because I will.
What is your specialty?
Omg :lau

I make pumpkin most often, but can make others easily.

Last summer I ended up with over 200 lbs of green tomatoes. I actually used some to make mincemeat. Made tarts with some of it at Christmas. Pretty darn good if I do say so myself.

I was just trying to come
think of an easy way you could start being proactive and rule out some things. It could very well be something other than fungus, but treating for that topically is a great place to start.
No no no you’re good! It probably is a fungal thing going on, and hey even if it isn’t then that’s one thing we can rule out. :)
Not all fungals are terribly contagious, but I’ve got no idea specifically what it could be. Good thing antifungals are probably the easiest/safest thing to apply for the heck of it haha.
Hope it works!
Agreed, I’m honestly hoping it’s a fungal thing and not like a pituitary mess up because then we would be 0/2 for EE eggs :gig

All of y'all talking about what color egg your girls are giving you and I'm like this

This is how many eggs I'm getting! They are not even pretending!

Same. Eat it or go to bed hungry.
My mom always made everything from scratch. Bread, pizza dough, etc... she even ground her own flour. We made our own yogurt from our goat milk and raised rabbits for meat and had chickens for eggs. We had a big garden and canned and froze every year. I never realized that this upbringing turned me into a food snob until recently. But, a snob I am.
What kind of picky are you? Like legit picky? Or snob?

I'm weird picky. First no spicy food. Then, while I do like sweets, I have to expect it to be sweet. For example, I grew up eating savory coleslaw and savory potato salad so "regular" coleslaw or potato salad is like a sugar bomb to me. I can't stomach it at all! I'm the same way with bread, unless it's supposed to be sweet (in my mind) like cake or muffins, I don't like it (I'm looking at you Hawaiian rolls!). I like my cornbread savory too.

However, it wasn't until I was in high school that I even realized that you can special order things in restaurants! We rarely ate out but when we did, we weren't given a choice to leave off anything. When my mom cooked we ate it, if there were leftovers, well, you knew what you were having tomorrow.

But when it comes to quality I'm not that picky. Cheap ice cream, expensive ice cream, etc, I don't care.

At first only one was doing it, and she was only doing it on the perch of the door frame. I started wondering if she was having mini seizures because she was collapsing over and over.
But then they all started doing it and I realized it was just a weirdo chick thing lmao.
I like making a shadow and then moving and watching them all flop over like zombies.
LMAO! Reminds me of the fainting goats. When they get startled they fall over and play dead. You may just be a tiny bit twisted in your choice of entertainment. Poor chicks. ;)

Mine too! I thought they were on heat strike but it has been below 100 for a week or so and still nada... well maybe one or two. I have noticed the days are already getting shorter. I put a light in the coop yesterday to come on at five every day.

Yep, same as Pug. I’m legit picky, I guess. I have a gigantic list of regular food that I absolutely hate.
I always “ate like a bird” as my parents said but it got worse when I moved out and started making my own food. Then I started on medication that really messes with my appetite and now it’s blown out of proportion. There’s some weeks I’ll just live off of the same boxed pasta with tuna or jambalaya rice and that’s all I can stomach. The poor Ginger does his best dealing with my “food swings” because I have a hard time keeping weight on as is.
If we go out and someone makes food for me, I just suck it up and dish out a tiny amount and aim to eat half of that.. I would hate to come across as rude to my in-laws, they’re too nice and would probably try and accommodate me and fail hahaha.

I try not to abuse it but come on, they all flop over like one of those flash mobs on the street LOL.
They seem to really like it though, they go in a trance like then you hit a dog’s itchy spot. They’re funny little weirdos.

Today I think they might actually be able to go out. :D :fl

@littleprairieheartsfarm does this bird have any other symptoms at all? It really does look kind of "fungus-y" but I'm not sure what else could do this. Have you seen evidence of live or mites? My buff silkie had bad mites when I first got her but I saw most the evidence around her eyes.it didn't really look like this though. It was shabbier looking and much more inflamed. Also, i was looking at another thread the other day and this person's bird had what looked to me like a fungal infection (it resembled this but it was much worse) and it had me wondering how do you treat fungal infections in chickens. The only thing I, personally, have ever seen marketed as an antifungal for chickens is oxine and I'm pretty sure it's more to treat the respiratory issues caused my molds and other funguses-although I do believe it might work for skin infections too. Anyway, since then I've been wondering if you could use lotrimin ir miconazole on birds (I've seen it used for other animals but obviously egg consumption didn't have to be considered). does anyone know anything about this?

@Tesumph any ideas if this is ok for chickens? If so could it be an easy & safe thing for @littleprairieheartsfarm to try for this bird?
Jock itch cream.
