I think what you see is it's right wing, It's beak will be tuck under the wing just barely below that closer to the dark line, that's where the air cell starts. It's moving it's wing every time it pecks at the shell, it's beak isn't that big! or at least I hope not!

Mine used to choke and turn purple. It freaked me out to high heaven! I didn't want to take the chance that he would choke in the middle of the night without me noticing so I slept sitting up with him laying on my chest for a solid 6 months. No joke.

I was changing my daughter once and she spit up and formula shot out of her mouth and both of her nostrils and she didn’t even try to turn her head. That’s when she got moved to her baby swing that could be set at an incline and I watched her like a hawk.... babies are scary!

The first external pipped was this morning around 8 am?

Staggered since then.

Ooo, it may be after midnight before the 1st one hatches. Once they start zipping, they go really fast, though!

You'll fall in love, mine, (at a week old) are around one and a half inches in height and so fluffy!! Be prepared for it to flip flop

Here is another thing I did.
I started counting the second I put them into the bator.
I did not do like normal people do with chicken eggs and start counting on the next day so...Do the math.
I set them on July 25th at noon.

I'm counting on them to hatch today but they might really be due tomorrow.


So...I will take what ever date they want to come out.
Makes no difference to me.
I am not worried yet.
The external pip numbers have been rising and that is good enough for me for now.
I think.

Yep, that's kinda what I was thinking after you said the 1st external pip was this morning. That's also the reason they don't want to videoed right now...their resting. Sometimes they rest for long periods, they also rest sometimes when zipping but more often than not once they start zipping their done in an hour or two!
After midnight now, probably between 1 and 2 am just a guess!
