True story
Just before I decided to go to valley quail I raised jap quail in above ground pens with hardware cloth all around I went out one morning to about a dozen quail without legs flopping around with torn bottom wire I assume a raccoon got them. Soon after I lost about 150 chicks to a flood in 1995 it was a rough time for the jap quail around here. Cool little birds but mine were very flighty

Well, the hens beg to differ. They squawk at first light. Behold the sun! Bringer of warmth! And heat and humidity...

Needed the rain. So over the mosquito hatch. Huge fanged blood suckers! We have the tiger mosquitos that don't bite you, they gnaw on you.

I say we road trip to Kiki's and play with babies!

I kept humidity at about 45 all night.
I just decided to bump it up to 60 to see if it helps wake up these slow pokes.
The quail quad is starting to eat!!! I prefer they eat the fermented feed first/only but I went ahead and added a little dry feed for now.

Sorry to sidetrack but I am absolutely distressed, y’all.

I know it was a joke but I seriously feel like I have 8/8 cockerels.
How in the living hell is that possible.
I was going to wait until 6 weeks before I thought about it anymore but I am LOSING my MIND.

The Ginger has assured me that if they’re all boys, he’ll call up Ideal himself and “sort it out.” Well thanks hubby but I know it doesn’t work like that.
Do I wait? Should I post in the sexing forum? They’re a little over 4.5 weeks now.

Relax. You do not have 8 cockerels. The Welsummer is for sure a pullet and from my understanding of the Barred Rocks, they have female coloring and are also not cockerels. At least two of your BOs are also pullets.
