➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

:love Oh my goodness I LOVE them!
I am not getting much done. I just sit and stare at them. They are changing fast.
They are fast little things too.

Soak some feed in plain old water for a few days...that's it.
I have fed my chickens it since day one and I will feed my quailies it too.
Fermented feed for the win!

I like that you use just plain water. I read about such elaborate recipes on line.

Plain water...rules.
Simple. Easy peasy is best.

It's dusty....and just yucky.
What do you use in your coop?
I love pine shavings because they mix around, and you can go much longer in between changes because of that. Poop gets shuttled to the bottom where it dries nicely and doesn't come back up. I put a 6" thick layer in my main brooder and change it maybe once the whole hatching season. Only poor quality shavings are dusty. Maybe that's the problem.

Cool to see such a successful hatch! Super cute little dudes. I love the little silver/yellow fella.
They sound a little like pheasants, sprinting all over the place, but even tinier.
I look forward to hatching some quails next season... under a chicken though.

Deep litter with zero shavings.
