➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

There’s two types of people who buy from places like that.. total moronic bimbos who think animals are replaceable toys, and bleeding hearts who think they’re “rescuing” by buying from there.

You’re not rescuing anything, you’re lining a CEO’s pockets and emptying a cage for the next puppy pumped out by an overbred bitch.
Same goes for larger pet chains (petco, petsmart) and BYBs selling on the side of the road.
Please just don’t. Support a rescue, any of them. Report pet stores like that and try to get them shut down or have better animal welfare laws put into place.
Fix my typo in your quote please.

Who are you talking to/asking?

You, sorry. I guess it isn't in OH since you went to it ha just saw one very similar

Are the idiots?
The people who buy them?
They have to be.

Lol I guess so. Or drunk kids buying them. But it's so stupid because they're usually sick. And there's so many in shelters. They should theoretically adopt or at least go to a reputable breeder who health tests and stands by their dogs but I think some people are also just in a hurry to get a puppy and don't want to wait 6 months or a year for a litter from a breeder or wait to be approved from a rescue. Also imo a lot of rescues have really detailed and strict questions amd requirements that makes it hard. Like asking about financials or requiring a fence and some people don't wanna answer those. I've also seen great homes get turned down because of a fence and they go to a less experienced home. I once heard someone with tons of St. Bernard experience, I think they used to be a breeder or were a rescue, and would have been a great fit, get turned down because I think they either didn't have a fence and/or they didn't like that they raw fed or something like that, some stupid thing about the way they cared for their animals, so they went to someone with no breed experience. Obviously that's extreme and I know rescues do a lot of good but I think some people don't wanna deal with all that bull. And a lot of people somehow still don't know about mills. It's so stupid though cause the dog could live 10 or 12 years yet you buy one that will likely have major health and temperament issues. And is usually way more expensive than breeders or rescues. Especially cause they also sell "designer" dogs when you could adopt the exact same mix at a shelter

Um, no. You need a change of pace sometimes.
Home is full of distractions and comfy beds.
The library can be stuffy and doesn’t have coffee.

Exactly! Libraries are always really stuffy and make me kinda sick lol

I shouldn't not have gone to that pet store.
I feel sick now.

Aw sorry

Help.
How the heck do I get this broken light bulb out?

Great point about the rescues and the hoops some of them want people to jump through. I'm a person that isn't going to do all that mess. I'll just be honest. Bc it's flawed and subjective when they make it too complicated the way they've done. They could filter out the bad without putting good people through hell. When I was looking for a kitten I checked FB bc I was looking for a young calico in particular. I found a girl about an HR away with one so I inquired. She told me in order to adopt them I'd have to let her visit my home at her discretion at least once a month. THIS CHICK HAD ZERO AFFILIATION WITH A SHELTER! I politely told her she was crazy if I she thought I was going to give a stranger who happened to find some kittens free reign to my home whenever she felt like it. Bish please! Good luck finding someone to agree to that! Sounds like you just got yourself two new pets. Honestly I would've answered any questions she had and possibly even let her do a homecheck once beforehand but she honeslty thought if I got these cats from her she could rightfully demand to just pop in whenever she felt like it!!! People are so cray!
