➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

"only funny person in the room". You must be by yourself.

And Kiki wore rubber shoes while playing with electricity. Glad you lived!!!

Back to Floppy.
Lethargic and losing weight. Refused sunflower seeds yesterday. What do I need to check for? I need to quarantine her today to check for eggs and poop. I thought she was molting, but this is getting worse.
Uh ho. Floppy is broody momma right?

Oh, and the button quail eggs are in the incubator, along with a dozen coturnix eggs. Going to have to have second incubator when I go into lockdown, wasn't able to start them staggered so hatch date is the same the way I wanted.

Ordered 24+ eggs, got 29. Two have a tiny chip/hole visible when candling, one has poop on it, and one is almost double the size of the others. Not sure if it's a double yolk or just huge. They all went into the incubator, will candle again in a few days.
Woot I can't wait!

Hopefully they all hatch!

Yeah, it's ridiculous! I feel like it's harder than adopting a kid lol maybe not but it feels that way sometimes and unfortunately I often wonder if they even want to find the animals homes with as hard as they make it :(

And wow that lady is crazy! Lol I could definitely see a homecheck once before or maybe request pictures or an occasional visit but once a month whenever they feel like? Ridiculous. And even occasional visit for a kitten is kinda ridiculous. I would expect it for an older dog or cat that you've bonded with to maybe ask to see it sometime but not demanding to come over every month lmao
Definitely not harder than adopting a kid.. it took us years to adopt my youngest brother from China.

I do agree that the hoops and requirements for animal adoption can be ridiculous, especially given the overpopulation crisis we have now. That being said, for many people rescuing & fostering is their entire livelihood. Who am I do get pissy if they want to make sure their animal doesn’t get abused or abandoned ever again?
But yea, I would never let someone have permission to unscheduled house visits for a kitten. Screw that noise lmao.

Is she eating regular food? Make her a scrambled egg and some sardines. See if she will eat it.

Did y'all get him when he was a wee one?

I am NEVER doing that again. If these lightbulbs burn out I'm buying a new fan.

Do you have an idea how hard it is to fish these puller things through the holes while trying to put the fixture thing back.

Never again. I'm about to pay serious attention the next time I buy a fan.

Who builds stuff like this....not someone who has ever had to change a bulb.View attachment 1519894
I have the same kind. Three of them. I got so mad when the first one broke I didn't want to do the others. Gonna have to get it done this weekend.

Yeah, sorry, that was probably a little bit of an extreme comparison. But it can definitely be hard sometimes.

And I totally get wanting to find a safe, non abusive home, but that's partly my point. Having or not having a fence or being rich does not mean it will or won't be a good home.

And yeah, the kitten thing is ridiculous

I think I’ll put mine in tomorrow. If I can get my shit together.
