➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Ok thanks. This is what she said she's doing now. I was thinking permethrin worked and told her I'd find out. She's on BYC on another thread and just mentioned her bird having them.

Scaly leg mites are super easy to treat, just smother the legs in vaseline or oil. Some people wash/scrub the legs with warm soapy water and/or epsom salt bath if they have it really bad but it is not necessary. Any oil should work but I was actually told that castor oil works the best, even better than Vaseline, because it gets way up under the scales and some say even one treatment works. I have just poured it on but that wastes a lot and doesn't get way up under the scales as easily so next time I'm going to get a toothbrush or paintbrush I think. I've put it on twice so far but it does seem to be helping. You can do it every week for a couple weeks or daily or whatever. But it usually doesn't take many treatments. You can also fill a bucket or something and dunk them in the oil. I would not recommend gasoline and some of those other treatments. It's dangerous and also you don't know what additives are in it. Gasoline isn't oure gasoline anymore. Plus it's just not necessary because the oil or Vaseline works so well and is so cheap.

I am NEVER doing that again. If these lightbulbs burn out I'm buying a new fan.

Do you have an idea how hard it is to fish these puller things through the holes while trying to put the fixture thing back.

Never again. I'm about to pay serious attention the next time I buy a fan.

Who builds stuff like this....not someone who has ever had to change a bulb.View attachment 1519894
