➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Yea.. that’s why you go to Australia first. Or anywhere but the states.

True lol

Nah too young yet for canada. Except Quebec....

I thought it was 18?

I would like to keep him, and it would certainly take the strain off of Negan to give him some of the hens. We’re just playing it by ear.

Very true. I say build a big run and/or a movable tractor and he will be fine.

What Kiki said.

Brilliant! I'll change it.

Night out in Montreal for Cyprus? Assuming she likes that sort of thing, anyway.

That sounds like a pay-per-hour torture session.

:lau

I think that the knives suit her personality best.

Lol true

18 is the drinking age in Alberta too.

So it's not all of Canada?

So today I had 3 scrambled eggs fresh from the coop (I've been slacking collecting them so we didn't even have any refrigerated so I went and got some from outside lol), sauteed power greens mix (spinach, baby bok choy, baby chards), 2 or 3 big spoonfuls of cottage cheese, and a cherry tomato I picked today. The veggies I had to sautee in canola oil unfortunately because I couldn't find any olive or coconut oil. That was 11:30, a little late but didn't want to have a huge sandwich lol and I have so much energy. But then I just had a 1 1/2 celery sticks (part of one was a little bad) with peanut butter and grapes again and 2 more spoonfuls of cottage cheese and I have a teeny tiny slight barely headache. Possibly from the sugar? Idk. Shouldn't have had that maybe but since I just had brunch 2 hours ago, I didn't want full lunch and didn't want a big carb loaded sandwich to lower my energy or a salad and too much greens. So healthy snack it was. I also didn't even touch my phone this morning. Checked a couple texts and returned a call maybe, and texted FSIL after walking their dog (and took pics) but besides that, not really at all. Normally I am glued to it and checking BYC, Twitter, etc. And often late for stuff cause I just sit there glued to it instead of getting ready. Not today. Well, I was a little late cause when I went to get the eggs I also decided to water all of my plants and collect all the ripe tomatoes so that took a bit of time but I wanted to eat so still took the time to prepare breakfast and eat it even though I possibly shouldn't have but for once I was late because I was actually being productive instead of doing nothing. I also got up before my alarm. It's 10:30. I woke up 2 minutes before. I also can't remember waking up during the night at all which might be part of why I have so much energy? I went to bed I think around 1. Sometimes I go to bed earlier or later but I usually always wake up at least once during the night and hit snooze until 10:45 or 11. Not today. I leaped up lol and like I said, barely touched my phone, watered the plants and animals, made breakfast, walked the dog, had a snack, etc. AND. I even brushed my teeth after breakfast and switched shirts cause the one I had on was covered in dirt from the tomatoes but sometimes I would wear it anyway cause I'm gonna get gross anyway but nope not today. Idk why I am so different today. I did also take a claritin though and my eyes are actually open LOL and took this

very docile especially the blues. People think they are mean but they couldn't be more wrong and to be frank back in the day (gamebirds is what Kiki is raising ) the very last thing a handler in the pit wanted was a human aggressive cock strapped with weapons turning on him. So yeah it was what it was. Now with that said you'll get a man fighter every now and then but it's very very rare. When people see mine for the first time they always say how calm and gentle they are cause layer folks usually have a preconceived notion that they see on tv with rescue groups saying how terrible they are and they couldn't be more wrong that's a main reason I have mine to try to show people how great they really are cause they have such a bad rap
Had an uncle that raised beautiful game birds back in the day in Missouri. Best fed birds around. He was a judge too for the fights before they were outlawed. The cock birds had to be tethered to their individual coops...out of striking distance from their neighbor. The hens were attentive mothers.

I am going to practice with some youtube videos tomorrow.
I don't know a thing about yoga.
My mom used a paperback book to teach herself yoga positions back when I was in high school in the early 70s. It was great fun.

If she is using well water, algae can be a real bear. My garden and coop area are on well water and it grows algae like no one's business. My algae is the kind that grows on the sides of the waterers. It is not slimy or scummy, so don't know if that kind is more problematic. The water itself is clear, there is just lots of green algae growing in the containers, even doing my best to keep the waterer shaded, periodically scrubbing out the containers, and changing the water regularly.

The good news is that the birds seem totally down with the algae-water. Their favorite waterer is actually the big 8 galloner with the most algae in it (the hardest one to clean). Everyone seems healthy

At this point, I'm just rolling with it. I've heard ACV can make birds less inclined to drink the water, and it is so hot and dry here, I don't want to risk that.

I use Oxine in the plastic water containers and rubber trugs. No algae.

Great job on the Apple Sauce Nana! how do you apply your oxine?
Thanks. On the Oxine, I use a tsp per gallon of water in the big waterers and 1/4 tsp for the quart waterers for the cage birds.
The brown or red algae is the worst. Green algae seems a favorite by the ducks...they like it growing in their swimming pools...although I scrub them frequently.
