➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I'd like to raise meat rabbits, but the cute factor is a huge block there. I just can't make myself think of them as livestock. Chickens, sure. Cute widdle bunnies? Harder.

That's my issue as well. They had baby rabbits on this raw website once and oddly, I didn't really care about the big rabbits, I almost bought some for Gator, but the babies I was like THEY KILL WIDDLE BABY RABBITS!?:th:hit

They were tiny though, like no fur still but yeah. I don't really see the point anyway, no meat. But I guess maybe good for snakes or cats.

But yeah, I would not be able to do the killing myself. Even for birds. I have been thinking of getting quail lately because of all you guys' posts lately but I don't think I could cross that line.

You named your rabbits Fry and Meatbag?? What are your other pets names?
The other bunny is named Nibbler. All three names are from Futurama :)
Cats named Ranger Danger and Chalmers.
Dogs named Sweet Lou and Shea.
Call ducks, known as the Winklebottoms (if referred to in a group) or Ruth, Gil and Hubert, individually.
Rooster named Ozzie Osborne.
Various chickens: Lucille, Lucille II, Slash, Mini Slash, Paddles, Steven, Fox, Kaiya.
Kune Kune Pigs: Whipple Scrumptious Fudgemallow Delight and Cookie.
See? Completely normal.

Nope! Dog is great, for a dog anyway, all the Guinea pigs were little darlings, most of the rabbits were great, and the mares I fell in love with were suprisingly non-mare-ish. They had sensible heads, pretty faces, and sweet temperaments.
Lucky you! Almost all my female pets have been neurotic. Oh, except my piggies. They're too lazy to be neurotic.

Those are pretty awesome names :)

Keep in mind the marshes are in the southern half. Like south of I-10.

Most stuff north of I-10 is dryer. They put I-10 in mostly dry part but close enough to see the marsh. Except for running through the Atchafalaya basin. The 18.2 mile bridge is impressive.

I'm right on big branch national wildlife refuge it's about 80% marsh I have to worry more with a stout s.e. wind flooding me than actual rainfall. Last time I had a survey done I'm 16 or 18" above sea level so it does not take much to flood. What's really cool is i have a pic somewhere taken from the roof of a building right on the Mississippi river and you can see that the river is prolly 20' higher that the road on the other side of the levee. The ships are literally that much higher than the cars driving down the road and they have no idea what's on the other side. You can't see from down there

View attachment 1529611 View attachment 1529612 went and toured a plantation. There was a couple from Australia it was pretty cool. Bit of an accent challenge on both parts but was fun
Beautiful place. MY favorite Plantation tour is Laura Plantation. Lots of info from both sides. More French style house.

that's on the list is it the one next to oak alley? And yeah houmas house's tour was pretty one sided. All they talked about was the owners. I even had to ask if it was a working plantation during the times. They used the term servants alot and showed the doors to the secret passages throughout the house bit didn't say that's how the "servants" moved throughout the house without being seen. I think the whole history of the plantation should be told but I guess that's just me. Oak alley did they talked alot about the slaves and still have the houses they lived in and how it was all set up
