➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

What I've been reading is that gestation is roughly one month, and the little rabbits should be ready to eat at about 8-12 weeks. A good meat breed is supposed to get to 5 pounds by 8-10 weeks. If you let them go longer they will get bigger but can be tougher.

I process between 6-8 weeks. They are smaller but are always tender.

Be sure to find out the lysine, methionine and cystine levels because they are every bit as important as the protein level.

I've been looking at different feeds and can find them with lysine and methionine but haven't seen one yet that have cystine. I'm going by the farm supply this afternoon and see what they have.

You will have to contact the manufacturer directly to learn about the cystine levels. It is one of those things that they do not put on the tag. There are a number of things that they just list but don't show the concentration.

I wonder if the rabbits sold at my feed store are meat kind. I'll get pictures of them next week. Hm...I am thinking about rabbits now too.:th

Be careful with neighbors, we just had to go last night and retain an attorney because a neighbor does not like what we do on our property. And what we are doing is allowed and legal....
Oh boy. Maybe said neighbor will decide they don't like their house anymore and MOVE.

Good luck girl.

Yea for sure. We’re going to be very careful about it; I don’t want to step on any toes so if neighbors aren’t down then they’ll just have to go to my MIL. I just want to make it work really badly... kinda sucks that after all the reasons I got chickens, I would have to give them up just as life is looking up. Oh well. They will be happy and loved either way.

Yep, moving to finish my bachelors and continue onto vet school at A&M. I am beyond excited. We’re negotiating offers right now and waiting for a house inspection to come back, everything is moving really fast. If everything continues to work out then we’ll be moving over Christmas!
WOOOOTTTT!
I am so excited for y'all!
