Yeah our NHR is not a nice hen at all, very pushy and bully like but she also is on the bottom of the pecking order. Meyer may have better stock though
That stinks

The ones that aren't RIR, RIW, or NHR are all production hybrid breeds. Also, anyone know the difference between these breeds? They have pretty detailed descriptions of each so I guess I don’t really need to ask the difference but it seems to me like they are all the same thing?? Just with different parent breeds???

Ideal Poultry. We do have one in the grow out pen that isn't as bad but she is still kind of bully-like.Where is yours from?

They have different parent stock *sometimes* in the hybrid breeds but mostly it's just a marketing thing. The golden comets, cinnamon queens, they are all basically the same bird just with different names. So are they the same thing? I guess I just don’t understand why they would breed so many versions of basically the same thing? High producing brown egg layer. And is this one also the same thing? This one almost seems better or like the more common one because it has leghorn in it’s heritage?

I guess it’s personal preference but idk which parent is better. It says what parent breeds each is from.
Huh, wonder if other ones are maybe less bully like

*I say sometimes but they probably have different pens with the parent stock separated out. I have no idea if they actually contain the same lines or not.

It could be the strains are better where she came from. I just know the Ideal stock. My Amber isn't a bully at all. She's always been a curious sort. Was one of the first to explore or check something out. Not a cuddler but had gotten to where she would jump up in my lap and preen herself. Wouldn't really stay for very long. Now if I am cleaning out either of the coops, she is right there with me trying to help, which is not really all that helpful. She scratches and kicks shavings all over the place. If Luna is over on the chickens side and gets close to her, she will towards her to run her off but just enough to get Luna out of the way. Otherwise if one of the older girls comes around she will run out of their way. She's never been confrontational. Maybe I just got lucky.
