A few thermometers.
A humidity gauge.
A lightbulb.
AND MOST IMPORTANT...a thermostat.

Will the broody take the extra chicks if they all hatch around the same time, or will she be like "wait how did I get twice as many chicks as I had eggs?"

Maybe you should just plan to be there early Thursday...lurking in the parking lot waiting for the delivery truck.

You might research "dry" hatch.


Yes, I hatch for my own flock and freezer. I have sold some older pullets to neighbors as replacement layers. The Columbian Wyandotte variety is a Heritage breed that is making a comeback as a meat and egg breed. I hatch so many to meet the standard and grow out the culls for the freezer.

Ya I was thinking of trying the dry method specially now that I have 2 eggs going south in lockdown
