So, I have an appointment tomorrow to pick up eggs from Cypress Duck Farm! They will sell me 1 dozen mixed eggs, all Marans, but some blue, some black and hopefully some lavender. They are so nice, love dealing with them. (They also ship eggs) I have gotten pullets from them before. Looks like the flock will be increasing, I am so excited. Hope you have good luck this week as well, @KikisGirls.
ETA: They have a web site as well, if anyone is interested.

Lost another chick 4 in total. But my lil silkie Brahma x Brahma was fully out of it's shell. Too the pics really chick checking it to make sure everything was absorbed.

I would kill for a broody.. Hell I'm praying to every know god/goddess of mythlogy that I know of as well as archangel gabriel to help the rest of my chicks hatch with no more problems I'm down to 7 chicks and there is no way I'm getting rid of Hlin (the little back one I'm hoping it's a girl!)

Fun story--
I got to talk to the guy in Ohio who was in on the beginning stages of bringing the Bald Eagle back. They had several injured that could not return to the wild so they would breed them and hatch out the eggs. Then find a wild nest with a hatchling the same age. (They closely monitored the few nests we had.)
Parent Eagles can handle 2 chicks so with incubated chick in a bag they would rig up and climb the tree to the nest. Pissed and screeching mom circling. Check the hatchling in the nest and give it a sibling.
When I asked how did they get the parents to accept another chick he said "We leave the new baby with a gift. A fresh fish."
When Mom comes back to 2 screaming kids she sees the easy meal, feeds them both and it's a new family.

That's awesome!!
