➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I can hear the bats. Lots of chirps. Hearing test yearly & they say I’m doing great compared to a bunch.
Dad lost his at work.
Wife listened to loud music when younger.
Kiki goes to concerts.

All the electronics buzzing also. Flourescent lights with a bad ballast are horrid.

I went to tons of concerts, still listen to loud music, I'm sure all the lasers and fans at work aren't doing me any favors, and florescent lights are of the devil.

I had a class once where I sat under a bad fluorescent light for about two months.. the constant micro flickering and high pitched buzzing gave me a couple migraines that semester.
That long ass snoot.
Snoot of despair.
That’s a screenshot from a video where she heard ONE rumble of thunder and was violently trembling for several hours.

It wouldn't surprise me if hearing them were an age related thing. Have you heard about the sound thing going around and how people under a certain age can hear it and people over a certain age can't. Something about the police using it as a deterrent for kids loitering and staying out past curfew? I was listening to a radio station at the time and they were talking about it and they played it over the air. I couldn't hear a thing. I've thought about trying to see if my son can hear it since he is only 21 but I haven't yet. As for the bats, I don't know if I can hear them or not. I doubt I could.

Something like this?

I must be old as dirt or have horrible hearing because I can’t hear a dang thing even with the volume on my phone all the way up and the phone next to my ear :lau I thought I could kinda hear something with it next to my ear but I think that’s just wishful thinking lol total silence.

Okay.... tested it again and with all the lights off (we have one that buzzes/hums) and fan off and with it RIGHT NEXT TO MY EAR I can just BARELY hear a slight humming/buzzing. I must be old as dirt lol

No.. then I have to listen to Theia sing the song of her people.
Power outage = end of the world.

Sorry about the migraines! That is awful! Could you have asked to move at all?

And awwww poor thing lol

Aww. I love bats. Makes me so happy to know they’re filling their little tummies with demon mosquitos.

Side note, can anyone else here hear bats?
Every time I’m outside with people and we see bats flying around, I’m the only one who can hear them chirping. I’ve always thought it was curious.
I used to have a bat that lived above the door to my deck during the summer. Unfortunately something got it and no others moved in.

Whoever decided to use them in every single box store ever deserves to be taken out and poked with many pointy sticks. The type I have in the workshop is a newer installation with many more cycles per second. I can not detect them cycling on and off. I wish everywhere else would put down the bucks for them since they apparently won't switch lighting styles completely.

They now make LED bulbs to replace your fluorescent bulbs with.

I run extension cords to my pens to power heating pads at times, but never to the big coop, which is where the ducks reside. I figure a fire in a separate pen would be sad but not devastating.

I didn't like running extension cords to my coop either so I actually had an electrician come out and run power to the coop. It is a normal household electrical run, buried conduit to a box and a GFI outlet on the wall. It is to code so I don't worry about fires or mowing over an electrical cord!
