She can't be away from her animals long enough to get here. Besides she would probably demand payment in the form of a freshly baked cherry pie and I don't feel like sharing.

I most certainly would demand pie. It's only fair. Unless... would I pay YOU for the glamour shots? Now I'm confused.

Checking eggs today and heard a loud buzzing. Honey bees covering the chicken food. Pulled out the feed tray and spread it out. Chickens ate a bit then the bees came back. Haven't seen this before.

Final chicken hatch is 4 black chicks. Yolk didn't make it. What causes this? Broody is doing well leading the four around. Eating and drinking well. Chicken chicks are still big compared to quail.

The babies are about as big as momma now.

They are 5 1/2 weeks old. This was the age when Xena had her seizures so I am really keeping an eye on them and also watching their feet for any sign of turning in. So far so good. I think this duck feed has really made a difference in their development as well as with being outside and foraging at a young age so they can get whatever nutrients that nature provides. You can only get the duck feed in 5 lb bags at the moment but a local feed store that I like to shop at told me that they are coming out with a 50 lb bag! It's about freaking time Purina! I am hoping that it will be in next week. They are getting so big!

Crazy storms all over New England today. We were driving through some of the downpours but thankfully they kinda stopped so we just missed most of it. Just watched the news and lots of people had huge trees toppled over, cars and houses hit, boats flipped, power outages, hail, lightning, crazy winds, etc. and of course tons of rain. And it all happened so fast mostly. Even scarier. Thankful we missed it and only got a bit of rain.

Can You tell what sex they are yet?

They are just getting their quacks in. I think I will be more certain in couple more weeks or so. I think I have at least 2 males. Just by looking at them and how they are built and developing. And I am definitely hearing some raspy voices coming from the group. I definitely have at least 1 female. The other 2 I am unsure of.

Where are you going?
A concert?

Yeah we were going to NH but were still south of Boston and in traffic when the storm hit haha

And it cleared out just as fast at least where we were or maybe it was cause we were just driving through haha

Big Christian music festival starts tomorrow and goes through Saturday, 3 day festival, so we came up today so we wouldn’t miss anything tomorrow haha most of the stuff isn’t until night though but still, there’s some stuff earlier and now this way we’re up here haha we’re half an hour away now and the hotel the other 3 nights are a lot closer to the concert haha but yeah. We’ll probably leave Sunday or maybe Monday. Don’t know yet. Don’t have to work until probably Wednesday or maybe Tuesday ha
