➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

IV is a little underweight too, in my opinion. I don’t think she’s unhealthy but I wouldn’t mind some chunk on her. We have the same issue.. she loooves worms/mice but can be picky with her vegetables. Silly lizard.
Yup, the dimensions of the tank are 4x2x2ft, which will be 8sq. ft, almost twice as much as her current 40 gallon tank.

It took me way too long to understand what I was looking at.
Thought that was a mutated horse hoof lmao.

I’m addicted to throwing things away. When we moved, I threw out so much STUFF. It was awesome. So liberating.
My basic rule of thumb: if I forgot that I owned it and/or haven’t used it in over a year, I offer it to my massive family. If they don’t want it, it gets tossed.

That sounds amazing!! I wish I could do that haha although I mostly wish I could just throw out all the CRAP any parents (mostly my mom) have filled this house with! Haha she clings to it so much and I really think she’d feel better if we just got a dumpster and tossed it all. :lau

And that’s definitely a good rule of thumb but see my issue is I forget I own a lot of stuff because most of it I purposely put in storage. :lau I just don’t have the room to display it all here. And I’m also like well what if I haven’t used it in 6 months or a year just cause I forgot I had it haha there’s also a lot (like tons, maybe even most of it) that I was going to do/use/read but then don’t cause of the damn phone so then I’m like well should I really get rid of it cause if I put the phone down I might actually read it haha

@KDOGG331 decluttering feels great. It's like a new beginning when you get done. I have a problem with throwing things away so it always makes me feel better to donate. Unless it's obvious garbage of course. But there's nothing like a space that's free of clutter and is organized. It'll be a great goal to set and a great way to feel motivated to get your new start.

Thank you. That makes a lot of sense. I have seen a lot about that “cluttered house cluttered mind” type thinking haha and honestly it does kind of make sense. But I still just have such a hard time throwing stuff away haha but I might try it tomorrow.

But I honestly think even if I just get like a couple bookcases to put my books in and bins to put my stuff in it will really help and look so much better haha of course during that process I will probably have to throw away at least some stuff haha

I definitely wanna do something. I think getting organized and/or cleaning and/or throwing some stuff away will help cause right now my room kinda supports my chaotic ADD mind haha I tend to just throw a lot on the floor. :lau

Completely disorganized person and room haha

Maybe if I organize my room then I’ll start wanting to be more organized and scheduled haha

Cause as of now I hate lists, schedules, plans, anything remotely organized, and i suck at it anyway :lau

Which does not help my plan.

Need to force myself to organize my room and like lists and plans haha

But that said I feel way more motivated and energized today haha which is weird cause I basically pulled an all nighter :lau

I mean I’m tired now but I’m like raring to clean something haha I was walking around the house earlier looking at not only my room but all the messy cabinets and stuff like in the kitchen or whatever and thinking I could clean that, I could clean that, definitely this hahaha oddly I actually LOVE cleaning/organizing the cabinets and have done it several times and I even like actual cleaning and scrubbing the stove and wiping the counters and everything when i do it. It’s fun to me. Mostly cause our stove is disgusting and I like making it clean again. :lau but when it comes to my own stuff... I can’t do it.

The chicken bug is biting and I'm not adding anything to my flock this year, so I'm doing some early research for next year. I hope y'all don't mind me picking your brains here. I can start a new thread but would rather ask here first. Anyway. My current chickens don't lay well in the winter and I've read that Delawares do, but I'm curious as to how well they do in high heat and high humidity. I've read up on the breed and about half the sources call them heat and cold hardy and the other half states that they don't take heat well. And I'm left confused. Anyone have some personal experience they'd care to share?
Are you set on Delawares or are you interested in other winter laying breeds?

Not set. Just making an early short list and ruling out or prioritizing as I learn. I do really like the look of the delawares though and so they were sort of at the top for me.
I'll let you know how the Cream Brabanters perform as far as eggs go. Personality wise, they are top notch. Supposedly, they are good winter layers.

I'll have to look them up again. I don't remember all the specs I've read on them. My kids would love those!
The nieces and nephews love them. These chickens just stand there and let kids manhandle them. Granted, they are not mature, but I'm impressed with them so far. If they're good layers to boot, they'll be the only LF that I continue keeping.

Did you order from a hatchery or do you know of a breeder? They seem hard to find.
