Soooo cute!!!

My broody is very devoted too and I still haven’t gotten her eggs yet so I think it might be too late now since she’s already been setting so long so think I may need to get her some chicks eventually too. Or finally break her. We’ll see.

The other day I was actually a bit concerned as she got off the nest for what seemed to me like a while but then she got back on. I had let them free range while I was working out there and at first it was great, she didn’t care at all and didn’t leave the nest, and even the day before when I have them a great treat in the run, she never left, so she has been very devoted, but then my dad opened up the nest box lid, and I thought she would do her usual eat drink poop and scratch then run back, or maybe stretch her wings a bit and eat some grass or bugs a bit since the door was open, which would have been fine, but she seemed to be out a long time, venture pretty far from the coop, and not seem in any real hurry to get back to the eggs!! But when she did go back, she went right back on them so idk. Usually she is in a hurry to get back but they never free range much normally so she seemed to be enjoying herself and forgetting about her eggs! I dont know how long she was out for but it seemed to be like at least an hour? But it might have been less or more than that, wasn’t really keeping track. But didn’t really seem to be too concerned! Is that normal? Or is she just a bad mom? Cause up until that point and even after she has been VERY faithfully setting!!

Is it hot there? How long has she been sitting? I’m worried our broody is about to give up and I just got these chicks. :barnie

Not too hot, been like 70s and 80s. She’s been sitting I think for two weeks or a week and half. She was sitting for a few days before I got her the fake eggs. She did go back to her nest after and has stayed so idk.

And aw no! That stinks!! Hopefully she doesn’t! :fl

Hmm I don’t know then.

Three eggs today. :wootThe normal brown is either from my OE that my broody hatched last year (yeah I'm disappointed- from MPC F2 oe hatching eggs btw) or my BR. Their eggs look exactly alike:th. But it looks like everyone's cycle is just slowing in our heat.

ETA: look how weird my foot looks in this pic! :gig:lau
Are you still chewing your nails?

Yes, I finally have time to hang out for a little while and very few people seem to be on tonight.
Well we had our 20th anniversary on the 14th. That was exciting for us.

DD started back to school as a junior this year, we need to start looking at colleges, especially ones that would like to give her a scholarship. :fl:fl
She has also been driving the truck :th she really is doing very well at that and is chomping at the bit to drive my standard transmission car!!
Does she know what she wants to be when she grows up yet?

Turk is a member who lives 1 & 1/2 hours from my house, we bought 4 blue laced red wyandottes from her a few months ago. I think some may be splashes, which is fine with me, they all appear to be pullets!!
Same here with the job, i make my own hours and can occasionally work from home and it's extra money in the house, which will come in handy when DD goes to college.
DH is the same sweet guy he has always been, still brings me coffee in bed every morning after 20 years of marriage.

I like @mixedUPturk she is pretty funny.

Happy anniversary!!
This week was more “incredibly stressful” than “funny” for me, although it had its moments.
So fun to see all these old faces on here... it’s like a chicken friend reunion.

They’re such fat little things. I love em. If I ever get this dang tank built for IV, I’ll have an empty 40 gallon to put whatever I want in.

Of course I remember.. how could I forget da husband. :gig
For some reason I always pronounce it like “dehh” in my head. I don’t know what’s wrong with me.
I think you and @jwyles need to get pet snakes and raise quail to feed them.
