I just seen them! They look good. The liquid mass your seeing at the bottom of the egg could be the embryo. Is anything inside the eggs moving? I wish I had a store near me that sold bualt eggs. I'd buy tons just to hatch!

4 on the roost and 2 in the nesting boxes for the night. Thank you St Brigid (be careful what you wish for). Now when I get my eggs, I can put 6 under each!!

I found a couple of places within a half day's drive that sell hatching eggs I'm interested in. One sells Maran eggs -- black, blue and splash. The other sells Silver and Gold Laced Wyandottes. Now I'm torn. The Wyandottes are beautiful and the seller is NIPP certified. But, I'd like to replace the broodies I lost, and I know Marans have a better track record for broodiness.

oh, gosh, what a decision, the Wyandottes are so pretty. But my marans barnyard mixes from my last hatch are my two broodys right now. Too bad you can't hatch 24, or can you? Are the Marans NIPP? My guy is

No, the Marans are not NIPP. But, of course, neither is my flock.

Sadly, I can't set 24. I can't even really set 12, as I only want to add 3 or 4 new hens. I have more room, but I need to leave some space for new one's next year, and so forth.

It's weird, I'm totally fine with culling and eating extra roos, but I've never been able to do that with extra hens. But, if I set 12, I'm sure I can find takers for a couple extra Marans hens, if needed.
